About Rachel Stones
I am a U.S. Air Force veteran, fantasy fiction enthusiast, and proud mom of two adventurous boys. Married to my best friend and travel partner, I balance writing with chasing after my spirited French bulldog, Reginald Francis the Third, my fluffy husky, Skylar, and a mischief-loving cat named Habanero.

When I am not building magical worlds or diving into someone else's, you can find me hiking with my family, planning the next getaway, or unwinding on the beach. For me, reading and writing fantasy is more than a hobby—it’s a doorway to the kind of escape and wonder I always loved. I hope to bring that love and escape to my readers sometime soon.

What inspired the Series
The idea for my book series first came to me over twelve years ago, during long, daily commutes to work in Washington, D.C. Somewhere between traffic lights and radio static, a wild car chase scene popped into my head—and refused to leave. I had the beginning, a rough idea of the middle, and a clear vision for how it would all end.

Years later, after rediscovering my love for reading—thanks in part to Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas—I decided to finally put that story on paper. What began as a standalone novel quickly grew into a sprawling fantasy series that will span six to eight books. I haven’t stopped writing since. Some would say I am a little obsessed!
What I am
Reading Now

Lately, I’ve fully embraced my love for fantasy and romantasy. It all started with Throne of Glass, and from there I devoured Sarah J. Maas’s entire universe—A Court of Thorns and Roses and Crescent City included. I’ve since torn through Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros, The Serpent and the Wings of Night series by Carissa Broadbent, and Jennifer Armentrout’s Blood and Ash saga. I’m officially hooked—and always looking for my next escape with no plans of stopping now.
