Until the Shadows Peak isn’t just a story about the battle between good and evil, light versus dark—it’s also a story about three women, each powerful in profoundly different ways.
Clara: The Reluctant Chosen One
Clara is a sarcastic and compassionate young woman who was just beginning her adult life when fate pulled her into a war she didn’t ask for. She has no powers, no combat training, and no skill set that one would expect from the chosen one. What she does have is grit, empathy, and the kind of quiet resilience that refuses to back down. Clara is that person in your life who shines even in the darkest of moments, who keeps going no matter what, and who holds others together just by showing up. She is the one woman willing to sacrifice her own happiness for others.
Calista: The Seductive Enigma
Calista, a fae princess, is everything Clara is not—at least on the surface. With elegance, wit, and an allure sharpened over centuries, she wields both powerful magic and seduction like weapons. Few can resist her beauty, and fewer still her power. Calista is the friend who lights up every room, captures the heart of those who see her, the one who laughs the loudest, dances the longest, and is always in control, no matter what she’s hiding underneath the glamor and strength she shows on the surface.
Selene: The Wise Protector
Selene is a witch they turn to in their hour of need. She is the type of woman who doesn’t crave notoriety. She is comfortable sitting in the shadows and is the one you trust when things fall apart. Wise and warm, fierce when she must be, and grounded in generations of knowledge that she carries the weight of it with grace. She’s the one who always seems to know the answer, even the ones you don’t want to hear. Selene is the person you go to when you need comfort, clarity, or someone to remind you who you are.
Together, these three women form a huge part of the emotional core of Until the Shadows Peak. Their power isn’t always flashy or loud...but it is real and lasting. What makes them great is that these women don’t exist to support the male characters. They’re at the center of the storm, choosing, resisting, loving, and breaking the chains on what real power looks like. I wrote them to reflect different forms of strength that I hope you find in yourself or other women in your life. I loved writing their voices, and I hope readers fall in love with them as much as I have.
